Active Older Adult Offerings

Active older adult programs and classes are critical to healthy aging. Here at Indianapolis Healthplex, we offer many activities, including land-based exercise classes and water fitness classes, Rocksteady Boxing, and Healthy Aging workshops, all of which are included in the price of membership. We also offer paid programs such as educational Lunch and Learns, Balance Boost Training Programs, and so much more. All free and paid programs for members are also available to non-members for a fee.

Group Fitness Classes

Stay active and healthy with our specialized group fitness classes for active older adults. Designed to meet the unique needs of seniors, our programs promote physical wellness, flexibility, and social interaction in a supportive environment. Join us to enhance your quality of life through tailored exercise routines that keep you moving and thriving as you age.

Aquatic Fitness Classes

Our invigorating water-based workouts are perfect for everyone but are highly recommended for active older adults eager to start a fitness routine. Improve your strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health in a low-impact environment that’s easy on your joints. Join us today and make a splash on your journey to better health and wellness in our 89-90-degree therapy pool! 

Rocksteady Boxing

Rocksteady Boxing is a health and wellness program designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease, a neurological condition that affects balance, strength, walking, and especially confidence. It’s based on a foundation of non-contact boxing, and it’s very effective for improving all of the symptoms that people with PD typically experience.

Balance Boost Training Program

For those specifically struggling with balance issues, we offer the Balance Boost program. This 4-week training regimen focuses on improving stability through a combination of weekly workshops and small-group personal training sessions.

Arthritis Friendly Walking Program

Managing an active lifestyle while dealing with arthritis issues can be challenging, but it’s not impossible. Our Arthritis-Friendly Walking Program “Arthritis Pathway to 5k” is designed to help overcome these hurdles and achieve fitness goals. This comprehensive program includes four informative workshops and a supportive social walking club.
