Kids Programs

We offer programming for children of all ages. Session dates are updated regularly and pre-registration is required for all children’s programming and special events. A few of our current program options for kids include taekwondo, youth basketball, private and semi-private basketball lessons, and Parents’ Night Out.

Fit Kids

The Fit Kids program is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This program introduces kids to a variety of activities including sports, cardio training, and core strength training. Fit Kids is designed for children ages 6-12.

Daily Activities: Each day starts with walking/running on the track followed by the focused specialty of the day:

Fitness – Mondays, Full Body Motion – Tuesdays, Basketball – Wednesdays and Zumba – Thursdays

Camps

We provide hands-on activities to keep your child’s mind active throughout summer break. Campers will participate in fitness activities with our physical trainers and coaches, cooking classes with our café team, and swim lessons with our aquatic instructors. We also provide special entertainment programs each week for our campers to enjoy.

Mileage Club

Your child will focus on running fundamentals while also working toward different milestones in running. Kids can also utilize tracking slips to record how many laps they’ve completed. For every five miles your child runs, they’ll receive a prize!

Parents’ Night Out

After enjoying a pizza dinner from our café, kids participate in a small craft activity. They’ll move on to swimming at 7 p.m., with a staff member in the water and lifeguard on duty at all times. After drying off, we’ll watch a movie—kids are welcome to bring pajamas, blankets, or stuffed animals for movie time. Pickup time is scheduled for 9 p.m.

Safe Sitter

Designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises.  To learn more click here.  Classes are head once a month.  To inquire next class contact Jennifer Large at [email protected].

Youth Basketball

Our new youth basketball program is led by seasoned coach and longtime Indianapolis Healthplex employee, Mike Busby. Mike has extensive coaching experience and has been a part of our staff since 2013. To learn more about youth basketball, visit the Indianapolis Healthplex basketball page.

Youth Tennis

Our tennis classes allow students of any age to participate in a fun tennis learning experience. To learn more about junior or youth tennis programs, visit the Indianapolis Healthplex tennis page.

Taekwondo

These classes are designed to introduce students to the basic principles of taekwondo. Kids will focus on character development and strengthening the mind, body, and spirit through physical exercise, form practice, and team building games.

A uniform known as a dobok (pronounced “toe-bok”) is required for this class and helps to promote integrity and responsibility. They are also mandatory for belt tests, which are held up to twice a year depending on student progress. Students must earn three stripes at the instructor’s discretion to be eligible for belt testing. Ranks start at the beginner level and advance all the way to the recommended black belt.
