Health & Movement Screening

Our in-depth Health and Movement Screen gives clients an overview of muscular conditioning, joint integrity, and how the nervous system plays a role in your balance and coordination. We also discuss techniques to prevent over-training and aid in recovery. In this assessment, we’ll take your foundational measurements like blood pressure, heart rate, body fat, and body circumference. We’ll also take you through a unique functional movement screen that will tell us more about possible mobility and stability issues in your joints. With this information, we design a customized workout for our training clients to reach their goals safely and effectively.

Health & Movement Screening

During this 60-minute Health and Movement Screen, you’ll discuss your health history and fitness goals with a degreed and certified personal trainer. You’ll also complete two baseline tests, the SECA scan and a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) that will identify asymmetries which result in functional movement deficiencies. The FMS aims to identify imbalances in mobility and stability during seven functional movement patterns. This tool will help identify a safe and effective exercise program without putting a movement on top of a dysfunction. During your sessions, your highly educated personal trainer will walk you through step-by-step instructions on proper and safe form and technique to prevent injuries.

Seca Scan

Typically performed during the Health Risk Assessment, the SECA mBCA 514 is a medical body composition analyzer that provides a faster, simpler way to accurately measure the body’s fat and water makeup. SECA reports the body’s lean mass and detect muscle imbalance.

Equipment Orientation

After enrolling as a member, your Membership Associate will help you schedule an orientation where you’ll learn how to use the strength training and cardiovascular equipment. A member of our fitness staff will explain the proper form for each machine and help you identify an appropriate starting weight.

Power Plate

This multi-benefit machine gives the body’s muscles a high-speed workout using vibrations to stimulate muscle contraction and relaxation. While muscles normally contract once or twice a second, the Power Plate’s vibrations cause 30-50 reflexive contractions per second. A few of the Power Plate machine’s numerous benefits include increased muscle strength and bone mass, improved balance and muscle recovery, increased flexibility and mobility, improved blood circulation, and reduced muscle soreness.
